Dolomitando 2022
On Sunday July 31, the Dolomitando meeting organized by the Historic Club Schio took place, which led the bikers of motorcycles produced from the sixties to the nineties of the last century through the Italian paths of the Great War. The motorcycle tour started from the Bonfanti-Vimar Museum in Romano d’Ezzelino (Vicenza) and saw about thirty motorcyclists driving motorcycles of various eras and brands: BMW, Cagiva, Ducati, Honda, Laverda, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Pilgrim and Suzuki.
Accompanied by a sunny day and pleasant temperatures, the motorcyclists got on the saddle to conquer the 1,776 meters of Cima Grappa where, at the Bassano Refuge, they stopped to allow the vehicles to cool down and the men to recover. The participants then visited the Military Memorial and the Milan Barracks, retracing the tragic fate that took place in these places.
Shortly before lunch, the caravan resumed its journey towards Seren del Grappa passing alongside the fortified complex of the Scale di Primolano and reaching the destination for lunch at the Birreria da Cornale, where the tasty courses and the setting of sport on both four wheels, have cheered the company. After the coffee and not too heavy, the centaurs headed to Valstagna to take the Valstagna-Foza special stage (called the University of Rally), even with the road open to traffic, continuing in the direction of the Military Memorial of Asiago for the visit customary and the inevitable souvenir photo, to everlasting memory.
Back on their motorcycles, they reached Breganze for the visit – a must for lovers of two wheels – of the Laverda Museum inaugurated on 23 July and where enthusiasts feasted on their eyes with the magnificent and unique pieces on display, remembered by the engineer Piero Laverda, accompanied by his daughter Bruna, from the foundation of the motorcycle brand in 1949 to the end of production in 2004, following changes in ownership, from Aprilia to Piaggio with which the motorcycle adventure ended. These are not just the models of a Vicenza motorcycle brand, but they are evidence of an art of knowing how to invent, be able to build and feed the passion for beautiful mechanics and speed.
The gathering ended with a pleasant refreshment offered by the Laverda Museum with the usual delivery of some gifts to all the participants. Given the positive and cheerful response to the event, the appointment is already set for next year where an even greater number of friends who are passionate about two wheels are expected.
