Sibillini e dintorni 2021 (Sibillini and surroundings)
Let’s put it this way: pre-war cars love Sibillini e dintorni and the event, now in its 13th edition, loves the pre-war period. It is not otherwise explained the ever-increasing appreciation by the owners of this kind of cars and the maintenance of many aficionados. This year many participants arrived from Piedmont but also from Veneto and Tuscany. They were all enthusiastic to drive their Fiat branded racers, their Balilla, their Torpedo among the beautiful landscapes of the Marche hinterland. But also Lancias, of course, and Alfa Romeos. Or, even older, examples of the very first generation Fords and some others of disappeared marques such as Welseley and the French Chenard & Walker. It’s not that there is no space for more recent cars, especially if exceptional as the Lancia Flaminia Super Sport Zagato which is present this year, but it is impossible not to notice a predominance of that timeless elegance typical of cars built until the 1940s. Started on Thursday 26 August, Sibillini e dintorni takes place every year along a different path and is also an opportunity for tourist and cultural discovery of the region. Over the three days, until Saturday 28th, the program includes stops in small villages such as Cesi and Montelupone, culminating in Macerata for the re-enactment of the Circuito della Vittoria (Circuit of the Victory) and a show at the Sferisterio. On the first day the caravan of historians stopped to visit the Roman conduit from the Augustan period and the Botte dei Varano from the Renaissance period in Serravalle del Chienti. Always putting in front of everything loads of lightheartedness, smiles and the sharing of the motoring passion in friendship.
