The Boxer Lancia Club’s first gathering was a great success!
“If I think that only six months ago all this seemed so far to come and now it has become reality it would almost seem that we have done a magic”. With these words, President Alessandro Malek Nayyeri thanked the crews during the Saturday lunch in a beautiful panoramic location in the green hills near Paciano, in Umbria. During the first two days, 17 of the 30 members of the association born just a year ago took part in this first meeting of the Boxer Lancia Club (13-15 May). An extremely niche association that for the occasion has been able to attract and bring to the scene some rarities and authentic goodies such as a 1962 Lancia Flavia Coupé Vignale, chassis number 10, which is believed to have been a prototype presented by the Vignale bodywork at Turin house. Set on Lake Trasimeno, the event, focused on the two Lancia models equipped with a boxer engine – Flavia and Gamma – also included in Friday’s program a conference by engineer Emanuele Frasci on the different fuel systems adopted by the manufacturer throughout history. While among the villages visited during the weekend there are also Panicale, Tuoro, Passignano and Città della Pieve. On Sunday the aggregation of other historical cars of the brand is expected but in the meantime another surprise that delighted the enthusiasts was the presence of two wonderful Lancia Flavia Sport Zagato, both in excellent condition. Really a hunchback, given that the model in the Peninsula is now almost impossible to find!
