Giulietta Spiders, Montreals, 1900s, Alfetta GTs, glorious 6Cs, AR51s… The occasion was the 111th birthday of the Milanese marque: the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese has given strong emotions to enthusiasts from all over Italy in four days of exhibitions and parades on the test track, as well as special displays and a celebratory livery for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Styria. Also the awaited delivery of Giulia GTAs and GTAms to the first buyers was included in the celebrations. They are two brand new and very sporty jewels in limited series of 500 examples.

The new CEO of Alfa Romeo, Jean Philippe Imparato, after “listening” to the voice of the classic Alfas on track, underlined in excellent Italian all the honor of representing the Biscione. He also surprised and heartened the public saying that “Alfa Romeo is not for sale and it never will be. There is no other brand in the world known by 97% of those questioned about the name”. He then anticipated a ten-year program that fired the public’s imagination, announcing that Alfa will offer customers a new car a year, starting from the long-awaited and repeatedly postponed debut of the Tonale.

In his words many noticed a more simple language, aimed at the hearts of the Alfisti. He appeared sincerely grateful towards them for having “supported and too often put up with” Alfa Romeo. This is the reason why the CEO wanted to promote – after many, too many years – this international gathering on June 24th which involved 2.000 Alfa Romeo cars of all times and 5.000 people on the Balocco track. In June 2022 they will meet again for the 112 years birthday and, who knows, they might also find there the new compact SUV to admire.
