The association of Conegliano, very committed to solidarity initiatives, will put a Lancia Prisma at the disposal of the handicapped

At the moment there are two cars already prepared as part of the Asi-Automotoclub Storico Italiano program for historic motorsport without barriers. These are two Lancia Fulvia Coupé 1.3 S equipped with special controls so that they can be enjoyed by disabled enthusiasts. While a third is under construction, an Alfa Romeo Spider. The accelerator, for example, is a mechanical type ring so that you can accelerate with both hands in any position of the steering wheel. But the changes are different and all highly technological, such as the lever service brake to the right of the steering column, or the automatic clutch that is activated via the photocell on the gear-shifter. And below 20 km / h the cars enter by themselves even in neutral. But not only the ASI is responsible for allowing the disabled to participate in rallies and events of vintage cars, also the Club Serenissima Storico, chaired by Paolo Picco, is setting up a vintage car independently by adhering to the program of the national association: a Lancia Prisma currently under construction.

Solidarity and award-winning. The initiative was officially announced during the Club’s social lunch in Castelbrando on 12 December last. On the occasion, the donations made by the Club in 2021 in favor of many charitable organizations were presented – including the Lilt-Italian League for the Fight against Cancer, the Oltre il Labirinto Foundation, which deals with the social inclusion of autistic children, the Sergio Piccin Association for disabled teens – for a total of over 20 thousand euros. A substantial charity activity that has also been recognized by the ASI, which has always been involved in solidarity initiatives in favor of the weakest. At the national convention on November 25th in Rome, the association awarded the Serenissima Storico one of the five annual awards assigned to the clubs that have distinguished themselves most for their solidarity activity. Moreover, that was not the only one awarded to the Venetian association, which includes over 1650 historic cars lovers from the Triveneto and Emilia Romagna regions: the ASI also awarded the Club with the Golden Handle for the Circuit of Conegliano, a famous regularity event organized by the Club. The recognition is awarded every year to the most successful national events and for the Serenissima Storico Club it was the fourth, to testify that the Circuit is in general one of the most appreciated events in the sector.
